The DSS & SQL course is designed to walk you through some of the more common tasks that you will encounter when working with SQL databases in Dataiku DSS. Completion of this course will enable you to move on to more advanced courses on DSS and SQL databases.

Throughout the hands-on lessons in this course, we will work with a fictional online t-shirt retailer called Haiku T-Shirt and use their enterprise data to illustrate some common tasks that you can expect to perform when working with SQL databases in DSS. Before each hands-on section, you will have a chance to grasp relevant key concepts by watching short videos.

In the hands-on lessons, we will learn to get data into an SQL database, perform in-database data processing using an SQL query recipe or a visual recipe, create charts using the database engine, and finally, use SQL notebooks to prototype code for querying and analyzing data.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the DSS & SQL course, you will have an understanding of:

1 - The architecture model for databases

2 - Database actions that you can perform in DSS

3 - Use cases for querying your data using SQL recipes and notebooks

4 - In-database computation
